A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Tex.
Blackpool Remi was quick to begin. Zipping Tex, Shady Thief, Wolfie's Squeeze and Dark Stealth were slow to begin. Zipping Tex, Shady Thief and Wolfie's Squeeze collided soon after the start checking Shady Thief and Wolfie's Squeeze. Wolfie's Squeeze brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Zipping Tex and Dark Stealth collided on the first turn checking Dark Stealth, Wolfie's Squeeze and Shady Thief. Blackpool Remi and Dewana Jayden collided on the first turn checking Blackpool Remi. Zipping Tex raced wide approaching the home turn. Wolfie's Squeeze checked off Shady Thief approaching the home turn. Blackpool Remi and Virage De Kahn collided approaching the winning post.
Wolfie's Squeeze was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hamstring. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
