A pre race sample was taken from Brazen Bull.

Marlow's Express, Night Theory and Oaklands collided soon after the start, checking Night Theory. Squirto, Cataleya and Brazen Bull collided approaching the first turn. Perfect Rider checked off Cataleya on the first turn, checking Squirto. Squirto clipped the heels of Marlow's Express approaching the home turn, and collided with Oaklands, checking Squirto, Marlow's Express and Oaklands as a result. Marlow's Express checked off Oaklands on the home turn, severely checking Marlow's Express.

Marlow's Express was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed
