Steward's Report
It's A Thrill, Disco Hips and Romany Girl were quick to begin. It's A Thrill, Creative Playboy, Ringside, Shrek's Rusty, Disco Hips and Romany Girl collided approaching the first turn causing Disco Hips to race wide. Darcon Flash, It's A Thrill, Ringside and Romany Girl collided approaching the second turn checking Darcon Flash, Ringside and Romany Girl. It's A Thrill, Creative Playboy and Shrek's Rusty collided on the second turn checking Shrek's Rusty. Darcon Flash and Disco Hips collided in the back straight. Darcon Flash failed to pursue the lure on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway, the trainer of Darcon Flash regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Darcon Flash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Darcon Flash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Conway pleaded guilty to the charge. Darcon Flash was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
