Jimmy Turbo and Aston Sultan were quick to begin.
Bomber Creek, Mema Wibble and Miracles Happen collided soon after the start checking Mema Wibble. Jimmy Turbo and Aston Sultan collided on the first turn checking Aston Sultan and causing Jimmy Turbo to fall, and as a consequence severely checking Bomber Creek, Why Not Kez and Crook Me Kindly. Mema Wibble and Miracles Happen raced wide on the home turn. Aston Sultan and Miracles Happen collided entering the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Ballistic Yaala - the winner of the event.
Jimmy Turbo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an inury to the left monkey and right and left pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
