Steward's Report
Staggerism was slow to begin.
Franki Jay and Almapa Sunshine collided approaching the first turn checking Almapa Sunshine. Almapa Sunshine and Staggerism collided on the first turn and again on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Kadalex Kid turned its head approaching the winning post.
Kadalex Kid underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Nibbs, the trainer of Kadalex Kid regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kadalex Kid was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Nibbs pleaded not guilty to the charge, Kadalex Kid was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Max Tractor - winner of the event.
