A pre-race sample was taken from Brian Harold.
Brian Harold and Untainted were slow to begin.
Federal Attack and Gwenog Jones collided on the first turn. Federal Attack, Gwenog Jones and Special Kirst collided on the first turn, checking Special Kirst and severely checking Gwenog Jones which fell as a result. Brian Harold checked off Young Jebrynah in the home straight.
Gwenog Jones underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Shoot To Miss - the winner of the event.
