In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, today's meeting was declared Hot Weather Affected. At the commencement of kennelling the outside temperature was 24.9 degrees and the inside kennel temperature was 17.3 degrees.

The outside temperature at race start time was 27.5 degrees and the inside kennel temperature when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.4 degrees.

Hardaway Jayjay and Blanco Boy were quick to begin. Yondu and Blue Cigar collided soon after the start. Blanco Boy and Hardaway Jayjay collided approaching the first turn checking Blanco Boy. Blue Cigar and Yondo collided approaching the first turn checking Yondu. Blanco Boy and Jaimandy Jester collided on the first turn.

Kraken Jacki was quick to begin. Aston Kah was slow to begin. Itching To Go and Londyn's Choice collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Londyn's Choice. Meehan Poppy and Itching To Go collided on the first turn. Kraken Jacki, Kraken Rye and Itching To Go collided in the home straight.

Stewards noted that due to a technical difficulty the incorrect race number was displayed on the semaphore board for this event.

A sample was taken from Kehestto - the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Heza Real Deal.

Titanium Bolt was slow to begin. Tat James, Pure Cool Titan and Heza Real Deal collided soon after the start causing Tat James to fall. Galo's Best and Yohan collided approaching the first turn checking Galo's Best. Pure Cool Titan clipped the heels of Galo's Best on the home turn.

Tat James was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left fore paw, no stand down period was imposed.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 28.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.5 degrees.

Kraken Jane Babe was a late scratching at 9:41am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a laceration to the right fore toe. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Talks was slow to begin. Positive Gearing, Meehan Bazz and Tat Warby collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Meehan Bazz and Tat Warby.

A sample was taken from Lava You Beauty - the winner of the event.

Mr A Debattista, trainer of Aston Aniston declared a new weight of 27.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Aston Aniston last raced at 28.4kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Flossing.

Aston Aniston and Kraken Doll collided soon after the start. Chiquita Lass, Kraken Doll and Aston Aniston collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Doll and Aston Aniston. Chiquita Lass clipped to heels Flossing entering the home straight. Aston Yoko and Kraken Lightning collided appoaching the winning post.

Time To Talk was quick to begin. She's For Us and Time To Talk collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Jeff Britton, the trainer of She's For Us regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Kraken Ruben and Mogo Jet were slow to begin. Kilpatrick and Snags Mckenzie collided soon after the start checking Kilpatrick. Fernando's Riot and Snags Mckenzie collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Ruben, Damnation and Kilpatrick collided on the first turn checking Kraken Ruben. Kilpatrick and Mogo Jet collided approaching the home turn checking Mogo Jet.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 30.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.4 degrees.

A pre-race sample was taken from Warrion Winnie.

St. Jenson and Hardaway Winnie collided soon after the start. Warrion Warrior and Dewana Chat collided soon after the start checking Dewana Chat. St. Jenson and Dewana Chat collided approaching the first turn checking Dewana Chat. Warrion Warrior and Harry's My Name collided on the first turn. Sooky Jooky raced wide in the home straight.

Dewana Chat was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Burnett and reminded him of his responsibilities in regards to the use of mobile phones in the kennelling area (GAR 44).

Kroos was slow to begin. Alcantara and Zero To Hero collided soon after the start. Alcantara and Kroos collided on the first turn. Zero To Hero and Black Hornet collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Amigo One.

Tiggerlong Zorro and Hit 'N' Split collided approaching the first turn. Oshkosh Jay and Tiggerlong Zorro collided on the first turn checking Tiggerlong Zorro which brussed the running rail as a result. Mr. Diaz and Amigo One collided in the first turn checking Amigo One which collided with Hit 'N' Split. Oshkosh Jay and Hit 'N' Split collided on the home turn.

Tiggerlong Zorro was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a minor triangle injury and a tendon injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Scott Confused was slow to begin. Myrniong And All, Hodge's Lane and Sparkling Jewel collided soon after the start checking Hodge's Lane and Sparking Jewel. Wolf Point, Scott Confused and Hodge's Lane collided approaching the first turn checking Wolf Point.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 31.7 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.2 degrees.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Jagger.

Mini Fernando and Sandy's My Name collided soon after the start checking Sandy's My Name. Clovally Mansumi, Blue Odessa and Sweet Potato collided on the frist turn checking Sweet Potato. Aston Jagger and Blue Odessa collided entering the home straight. Zharnel clipped the heels of Blue Odessa in the home straight checking Zharnel.

Meeting Comments:

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers vehicles engaged in todays event. Stewards were satisified that all trailers had adhered to the hot weather transport policy.

Re-Vetted Greyhound - Twilight Connie was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was Cleared to race.
