In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, today's meeting was declared Hot Weather Affected. At the commencement of kennelling the outside temperature was 24.9 degrees and the inside kennel temperature was 17.3 degrees.
The outside temperature at race start time was 27.5 degrees and the inside kennel temperature when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.4 degrees.
Hardaway Jayjay and Blanco Boy were quick to begin. Yondu and Blue Cigar collided soon after the start. Blanco Boy and Hardaway Jayjay collided approaching the first turn checking Blanco Boy. Blue Cigar and Yondo collided approaching the first turn checking Yondu. Blanco Boy and Jaimandy Jester collided on the first turn.
