Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected. The outside temperature when kennels opened was 21.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees.
The outside temperature prior to this event was 24.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.7 degrees.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter Mr. A. Blake did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Oriental Tiger and Dusty Dior were quick to begin.
Crackerjack Tys was slow to begin.
Hook Along Flyer and Figment collided soon after the start. Hook Along Flyer and Dusty Dior collided several times on the first turn. Hook Along Flyer and Dusty Dior collided approaching the home turn checking Hook Along Flyer. Dusty Dior failed to pursue to lure with due commitment entering the home straight checking Hook Along Flyer.
Dusty Dior was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Borserio, the representative of the greyhound Dusty Dior regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dusty Dior with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Borserio pleaded guilty to the charge, Dusty Dior was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
