Steward's Report
Busy Bella was quick to begin. Finniss Vision, Dundee Ace and Special Drop were slow to begin.
Finniss Vision and Special Drop collided approach third turn. Special Drop marred the running of Dundee Ace entering the home straight severely checking both greyhounds. Busy Bella and Diamond Bling collided entering the home straight.
Special Drop was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms E. Knott and Mr P. Knott trainer and owner of the greyhound Special Drop regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Special Drop with marring. Mr Knott pleaded not guilty to the charge, Special Drop was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Minter Bee Star - the 3rd placegetter of the event.
