Stewards spoke to Mr. Brandon. Mackie the representative for So Apparent regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. So Apparent last raced on 26/05/18. Mr. Mackie stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a hamstring injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Michael Delaney the trainer of Somerton May regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Somerton May last raced on 08/07/18. Mr. Delaney stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Somerton May.
Ants In Pants was slow to begin. Somerton May crossed in soon afer the start checking Bit Fancy and Kireina. Somerton May and Weeona Gina collided on the first turn checking Weeona Gina. Hypo Chared and So Apparent collided on the first turn. So Apparent, Somerton May and Bit Fancy collided on the first turn checking Somerton May and So Apparent. Kireina and Ants In Pants collided approaching the home turn. Weeona Gina raced wide on the home turn. Hypo Chared eased in the home straight. Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Romagnino the trainer of Hypo Chared regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Hypo Chared was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left chest muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Hypo Chared with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Mr. Romagnino pleaded not guilty to the charge, Hypo Chared was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
