Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Nancy.
Cherokee Shimmer and Dyna Nancy collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Nancy. Lady Mikado raced wide approaching the second turn and collided with Cherokee Shimmer. Moneypenny, Cherokee Shimmer and Dyna Nancy collided in the back straight, checking Cherokee Shimmer and Dyna Nancy. Dyna Nancy veered out and marred Lady Mikado on the home turn and entering the home straight, severely checking Lady Mikado and Cherokee Shimmer.
Dyna Nancy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to a right fore toe. No standdown period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Capuano, the trainer of the greyhound Dyna Nancy, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dyna Nancy with marring. Mr. Capuano pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Nancy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
