Steward's Report
Molly Coaster, Shockwave and Oakvale Magic were slow to begin.
Miss Dee Meadows and Shockwave collided soon after the start. Yuko and Hillside Lady collided approaching the first turn, checking Hillside Lady and Miss Dee Meadows. Shockwave and Kiss Me Nicki collided on the first turn. Hillside Lady and Kiss Me Nicki collided entering the back straight. Yuko checked off Oakvale Magic on the third turn. Molly Coaster and Yuko collided entering the home straight. Mepunga Prue shifted out in the home straight. Shockwave failed to pursue the lure in the home straight and collided with Mepunga Prue.
Shockwave was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 11 it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Ivers, the trainer of the greyhound Shockwave, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Shockwave with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Ivers pleaded guilty to the charge, Shockwave was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
