Mt View Gift was a late scratching at 11:40 am, following a phone call from representative, Mr Trevor Whitford, regarding his vehicle breakdown on route to the track.  While no fine or stand-down period was imposed, Stewards will require evidence of the vehicle breakdown to be submitted before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Miyagi Magic upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Unitue Edition and Fawn Regrets were slow to begin.  Perfect Empire and Owlette collided on the first turn.  Owlette, Fawn Regrets collided on the first turn.  Perfect Empire and Owlette collided on the third turn and again entering the home straight.  Owlette marred  Perfect Empire on the home turn and in the home straight.

Oweltte was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg chest injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Phillip Pollutro, the handler of the greyhound Owlette, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Owlette with marring.  Mr Pollutro pleaded not guilty to the charge, Owlette was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for three months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
