Steward's Report
Urana Vee Eight was slow to begin. Duce Royal and Ringside collided soon after the start. Prince Mikado, Ringside and Charlie Haze collided on the first turn checking Prince Mikado. Rapanui Revival and Urana Vee Eight collided on the first turn. Prince Mikado was checked off Rapanui Revival on the home turn and failed to pursue the lure colliding with Potere as a result severely checking both greyhounds. Prince Mikado and Potere raced wide in the home straight.
Potere was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Barber the trainer of the greyhound Prince Mikado regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Prince Mikado was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right dew claw, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Prince Mikado with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury. Ms. Barber pleaded not guilty to the charge, Prince Mikado was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
