The start of this event was delayed eight minutes, due to problems with the lure.
Flying Sam was slow to begin. White Minion and Maximum Bliss collided soon after the start, checking Maximum Bliss. White Minion, Blackpool Blast and Lireva collided approaching the first turn, checking Blackpool Blast and Lireva. Merl's Blaze checked off Lireva approaching the first turn. Merl's Blaze checked off Maximum Bliss on the first turn. Lireva and Princess Parker collided on the first turn, checking Princess Parker. Merl's Blaze, Maximum Bliss, Blackpool Blast and Flying Sam raced wide in the home straight.
