Steward's Report
Stewards queried representative Jeff Geall in regards to the nomination of Matty Mateusz for this event after the greyhound's performance in the same grade and distance at The Meadows last Saturday night (8 September 2018). Mr Geall stated that he nominated for a grade 5 event however had been drawn into a mixed 4/5. Mr Geall added that even though the class of the race tonight is the same as last week Matty Mateusz would be better suited against these greyhounds and he expected a better performance tonight.
A pre-race sample was taken from Zagati.
Sharp Diamond was quick to begin. Sharp Diamond and Matty Mateusz collided soon after the start. Miss Gingin and Chill Out Julie collided on the first turn, severely checking Miss Gingin which fell, checking Pretty Sensation which stumbled and lost ground as a result. Zagati galloped on the heels of Chill Out Julie approaching the second turn checking Zagati. Zagati and Sharp Diamond collided approaching the fifth turn. Matty Mateusz and Sharp Diamond collided on the fifth turn checking Matty Mateusz. Kraken Katie, Zagati and Sharp Diamond collided on the home turn
Miss Gingin was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
