Janray Rastus and What Feeling were slow to begin.
Ballistic Lass and What Feeling collided soon after the start. What Feeling crossed to the outside at the 250m mark. She Ignites, Aunty Chris and Delta's Tiara collided approaching the 200m mark checking all three greyhounds. Janray Rastus crossed to the outside at the 150m mark causing She Ignites to race wide checking She Ignites and Aunty Chris. What Feeling clipped the heels of Ballistic Lass at the 150 m mark checking What Feeling. Janray Rastus and She Ignites collided several times from the 150m mark to approaching the winning post severely checking both greyhounds. Big Holiday checked off Delta's Tiara approaching the 100m mark checking Delta's Tiara. Aunty Chris eased approaching the winning post. Ballistic Lass checked off Janray Rastus approaching the winning post.
Aunty Chris was vetted and after being re-vetted following race 7, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr K. Kelly, the trainer of the greyhound Aunty Chris regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Aunty Chris with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr K. Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charge, Aunty Chris was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
