Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Lockrod upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Mr C. Chilcott, Lure Driver, did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Real Simple and Gehring Bale collided soon after the start. Real Simple and Dyna Alia collided approaching the first turn. Perfect Project, Dyna Alia, Dyna Oscar and Real Simple collided on the first turn. Undisputed, Gehring Bale and Dyna Alia collided on the first turn. Gehring Bale and Dyna Alia collided on the second turn checking Dyna Alia. Undisputed, Rythym Taboo and Real Simple collided on the second turn. Rythym Taboo faded in the back straight and lost ground. Rythym Taboo and Real Simple collided approaching the third turn checking Rythym Taboo. Gehring Bale and Rythym Taboo collided on the third turn. Undisputed and Real Simple collided approaching the home turn, causing Real Simple to shifted outwards and collide with Perfect Project. Real Simple and Gehring Bale collided entering the home straight. Undisputed and Real Simple collided in the home straight checking Real Simple. Real Simple faded in the home straight.
Real Simple appeared disappointing on face value and was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 9. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shin and left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Thomspon, the kennel representative of Real Simple who indicated that he was satisfied with the performance of Real Simple after he was unable to lead, encountered several bouts of interference thereafter and that fundamentally, Real Simple performs best when he is able to lead in his races. Connections were requested to report any other matter that becomes apparent in the coming days, under the provisions of GAR 75.
Rythym Taboo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right back muscle and right triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
