Stewards opened an inquiry into the bona fides of this race and in particular the circumstances surrounding the nomination and scratching of both Dyna Uni and Dyna Xervo on 4 November 2018. Both greyhounds are trained by Mrs Andrea Dailly. Stewards took evidence from Mrs Dailly. During the course of the inquiry, Mrs Dailly was directed to present Dyna Uni  and Dyna Xervo to Geelong on Wednesday 7 November 2018 for an examination by the on-course Veterinarian in accordance with GAR 23 (3). No further nominations will be accepted for these greyhounds pending the Stewards satisfaction with this. The Stewards provided Mrs Dailly with an overview of our concerns of previous race distances covered by both greyhounds, the nomination process and that both greyhounds were returning from lay-offs; in a 725m handicap, a distance neither had raced at before. Mrs Dailly made submissions about the suitability and preperation of both greyhounds to run at this distance first-up, barring these injuries.The inquiry has been adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Soda Flash and Xera Bale collided soon after the start checking Xera Bale.  Soda Flash and Ayo Joy collided approaching the first turn.  Soda Flash, Seabrook Eb and Rockstar Patriot collided approaching the first turn.  Hot Tip and Seabrook Eb collided on the first turn.  Xera Bale and Seabrook Eb collided approaching the fifth turn.  Ayo Joy tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Dyna Hadria, Zambora Andy and George's Fever collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Ready And Armed and George's Fever collided on the first turn.  Ready And Armed, Dyna Hadria, Zambora Andy, Mepunga Pride and Rollin' With It collided on the first turn checking Mepunga Pride and Zambora Andy, severely checking Rollin' With It which lost ground.  Main One and Dyna Hadria collided approaching the home turn.

Rollin' With It was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Fire And Smoke, Oshkosh Uni Chet and Shot Thru collided approaching the first turn checking Shot Thru.  Dyna Chancer and Fire And Smoke collided on the first turn.  Oshkosh Uni Chet, Ima Mystery Girl and Ace Allen collided on the first turn.  Oshkosh Uni Chet and Shot Thru collided entering the front straight.  Shot Thru, Oshkosh Uni Chet, Ace Allen and Ima Mystery Girl collided on the second turn, severely checking Oshkosh Uni Chet and Ace Allen causing Ima Mystery Girl to fall.

Ace Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shin, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Ima Mystery Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Loch Monster was slow to begin.  He Shall Johnny, Dyna Yami and Shanlyn Magic collided approaching the first turn.  Bourbski Bar, He Shall Johnny and Dyna Yami collided on the first turn.  Hoo Gur Affair and Dyna Drew collided on the first turn.  Shanlyn Magic and Federal Lilly collided on the second turn checking Shanlyn Magic.  Bourbski Bar and Hoo Gur Affair collided on the third turn.  He Shall Johnny and Shanlyn Magic collided approaching the home turn.  Bourbski Bar and Hoo Gur Affair collided on the home turn.  Bourbski Bar and Dyna Drew collided entering the home straight.  Hoo Gur Affair and Shanlyn Magic collided in the home straight.  Loch Monster faded in the home straight.

Loch Monster was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a possible fracture to the right carpal bone, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Up Hill Jill was quick to begin.  Hone In and Belt Up Bubbs collided soon after the start.  Hasten Slowly and Hone In collided several times approaching the first turn.  Belt Up Bubbs, Orson Allen, Poke The Bear, Vital Force and Dyna Patty collided on the first turn checking all five greyhounds.  Hone In galloped on the heels of Vital Force on the first turn, severely checking Vital Force.  Hone In checked off Dyna Patty on the first turn.  Orson Allen and Dyna Patty collided on the third turn.  Poke The Bear checked off Up Hill Jill on the home turn.  Up Hill Jill and Poke The Bear raced tightly in the home straight.

Vital Force was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right triangle muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards issued a warning to Mr J. Presutto, the kennel representative for Vital Force, under GAR 42(2) for initially leaving course without permission.

Real Simple and Gehring Bale collided soon after the start.  Real Simple and Dyna Alia collided approaching the first turn.  Perfect Project,  Dyna Alia, Dyna Oscar and Real Simple collided on the first turn.  Undisputed, Gehring Bale and Dyna Alia collided on the first turn.  Gehring Bale and Dyna Alia collided on the second turn checking Dyna Alia.  Undisputed, Rythym Taboo and Real Simple collided on the second turn.  Rythym Taboo faded in the back straight and lost ground.  Rythym Taboo and Real Simple collided approaching the third turn checking Rythym Taboo.  Gehring Bale and Rythym Taboo collided on the third turn.  Undisputed and Real Simple collided approaching the home turn, causing Real Simple to shifted outwards and collide with Perfect Project. Real Simple and Gehring Bale collided entering the home straight.  Undisputed and Real Simple collided in the home straight checking Real Simple.  Real Simple faded in the home straight.

Real Simple appeared disappointing on face value and was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 9.   It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left shin and left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Thomspon, the kennel representative of Real Simple who indicated that he was satisfied with the performance of Real Simple after he was unable to lead, encountered several bouts of interference thereafter and that fundamentally, Real Simple performs best when he is able to lead in his races. Connections were requested to report any other matter that becomes apparent in the coming days, under the provisions of GAR 75.  

Rythym Taboo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right back muscle and right triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Black Impala engaged in this event on 30 October 2018, pursuant to GAR 79A.

Out of Competition Samples were taken from Zipping Bailey, Magic Hornet, Dyna Yezza Not Available, Lila Bale, Gateway To Eden, Dyna Dean and Dyna Zesty engaged in this event on 31 October 2018, pursuant to GAR 79A. 

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Neo Cleo engaged in this event on 1 November 2018, pursuant to GAR 79A.

Lila Bale was quick to begin.  Zipping Bailey was slow to begin.  Black Impala and Gateway To Eden collided soon after the start.  Neo Cleo, Not Available and Lila Bale collided soon after the start.  Magic Hornet, Neo Cleo and Lila Bale collided on the first turn.  Dyna Yezza and Not Available collided several times on the first turn.  Zipping Bailey hit the inside running rail on the second turn.  Magic Hornet, Not Available and Gateway To Eden collided several times on the second turn.  Zipping Bailey checked off Not Available on the third turn.  Neo Cleo checked off Black Impala approaching the home turn.

Zipping Bailey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Barry Bomber was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left deltoid and right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Gagan Colin was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards delayed the "All Clear" after judges inadvertently semaphored "1-8-4-3".  This was corrected to "1-8-4-7" before the "All Clear" was given.

Connor Allen and Revved Up Dee collided soon after the start.  Nymphadora Tonks, South Of Eden and Fast Izzi collided on the first turn.  Fast Izzi and Connor Allen collided entering the front straight.  Nymphadora Tonks and South Of Eden collided entering the front straight and again on the second turn.  Revved Up Dee and Fast Izzi collided on the second turn.  Connor Allen and South Of Eden collided on the third turn checking Connor Allen.  Connor Allen clipped the heels of Nymphadora Tonks on the fourth turn checking Connor Allen.
