Stewards spoke to Mr A. Debattista, the trainer of Aston Frankel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Aston Frankel last raced on 13/8/2018. Mr Debattista stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right back muscle injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Splash Of Blue.
Splash Of Blue and Myrniong Cosmo were slow to begin.
Aston Frankel checked off Galo's Best approaching the first turn. Galo's Best checked off Blackhawk Parker on the first turn, checking Aston Frankel and Myrniong Cosmo and severely checking Lost Blue and Splash Of Blue. Aston Frankel checked off Hannibal Spectre in the home straight. W
Splash Of Blue was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound lost a near hind toe nail. A 5 day standown period was imposed.
