This meeting was deemed hot weather affected. Prior to race 6 the outside temperature was 30 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19 degrees.

The start of this event was delayed by 1.5 minutes to hold for a Hoosier harness race.

Oshkosh Jay and Eight Bells Toll were quick to begin. Kalgoorlie Kid was slow to begin. Split Chic and Hillbilly Boy collided soon after the start checking Split Chic. Hillbilly Boy Jaimandy Carl and Oshkosh Jay collided approaching the first turn. Kalgoorlie Kid and Hillbilly Boy collided on the first turn checking Kalgoorlie Kid. Split Chic, Dashing Dino and Marko Bale collided on the first turn checking Split Chic. Dashing Dino and Marko Bale collided on the first turn checking Dashing Dino. Kalgoorlie Kid and Oshkosh Jay collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Hillbilly Boy and Jaimandy Carl collided in the home straight. Hillbilly Boy failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Hendy, the trainer of the greyhound Hillbilly Boy regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Hillbilly Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist, a small abrasion to the both metatarsal and a small spike wound to the right metacarpal, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Hillbilly Boy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. M. Hendy pleaded guilty to the charge, Hillbilly Boy was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.
