Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Wisener, the trainer of the greyhound Aston Polec regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Aston Polec was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 4, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Aston Polec with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms. Wisener pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Polec was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

My Uncle Bob, Cosmic Lucy and Grande Fratello were slow to begin.  Platinum Malt and Perfect Everest collided approaching the first turn.  Perfect Everest and Platinum Malt collided on the first turn checking Platinum Malt and My Uncle Bob.  Cosmic Lucy and Platinum Malt collided on the first turn severely checking Platinum Malt;  Platinum Malt subsequently tailed off.  Perfect Everest checked off Grande Fratello on the home turn.  Grande Fratello and Hot Spuds collided several times in the home straight.

Our Bravo Rose, Duke Of Burnley, Dr. Darkrai and Lightning Boxy were slow to begin.  Crash Reality and Lightning Boxy collided on the first turn checking Crash Reality.  Lightning Boxy tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Our Mojo was a late scratching at 18:05pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Ms. M. Payne was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Elston, the trainer of Clarence Clocka regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Clarence Clocka last raced on 1st April, 2018.  Mr. Elston stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right back muscle injury.
