The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to a Kilmore harness race.

Azure Dragon and Volcanic Winter were slow to begin.  Qatar Girl and Kazza Magoo collided soon after the start checking Kazza Magoo.  Volcanic Winter and Kauai collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Volcanic Winter and Kazza Magoo raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Star Rad.

Aston Kimetto was slow to begin.  Zipping Hayne was checked off Star Rad soon after the start.  Yelredda Saint and Rumbling collided soon after the start.  Rumbling and Sapphire Power collided approaching the first turn.  Rumbling was checked off In Orbit on the first turn checking Rumbling and Sapphire Power and severely checking In Orbit which lost ground as a result.  Rumbling and Yelredda Saint collided in the home straight.  Star Rad and Rapanui Surprise collided approaching the winning post.

Star Rad was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on a left front toe, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

In Orbit was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Weeona Wilbur was slow to begin.  Dyna Owen and Dr. Dedra collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Dedra.  Quena Dee Air was checked off Dyna Owen on the first turn checking Vital Force, Mahjong World and Blusain Bolt.  Mahjong World and Blusain Bolt raced wide in the home straight.

Eminence Keroma and Krypto Jam collided soon after the start.  Krypto Jam and Buddy Blinx collided soon after the start.  Miss Fab and Walkin' The Walk collided approaching the first turn.  Buddy Blinx and Krypto Jam collided on the first turn.  Buddy Blinx was checked off Walkin' The Walk approaching the home turn checking Buddy Blinx, Krypto Jam and Miss Fab.  Miss Fab and Eminence Keroma collided approaching the home turn.  Walkin' The Walk and Krypto Jam collided approaching the home turn.  Walkin' The Walk was checked off Krypto Jam approaching the home turn and lost ground as a result.  Buddy Blinx and Walkin' The Walk collided on the home turn.  Miss Fab and Walkin' The Walk collided entering the home straight and again several times in the home straight.

The lure carriage was changed following this event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Ferguson, the trainer of Cosmic Chieftain regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Cosmic Chieftain last raced on14th March 2018.  Mr. Ferguson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.

The incorrect race number and tote dividends were displayed on the semaphore board  due to a technical issue with the TAB.

Aeroplane Bob was a late scratching at 6.16pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Forge and Mepunga Bonnie collided soon after the start.  Mepunga Bonnie and Weeona Paul collided soon after the start.  Small Rose and Apache Flame collided approaching the first turn.  Small Rose and Zipping Maisy collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Mepunga Bonnie was checked off Weeona Paul approaching the home turn checking Mepunga Bonnie.

Alabar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Maderra.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

A sample was taken from Totally Bullish - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Gilliland the trainer of Unique Leo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Unique Leo last raced on 3rd November 2017 and ran a  satisfactory trial at Shepparton on 23rd July 2018.  Mr. Gilliland stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel and an injured right back muscle.
