Zipping Riot was slow to begin. Tzar Norma stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (3L).

Pinciotti was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to Ms Ashley Terry, the representative for Trouper, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Trouper last raced on 12 April 2018 and is returning to racing following a tendon injury. 

Challis Sprite and Johnnie Red collided soon after the start. Panadero King crossed to the inside soon after the start and collided with Johnnie Red, checking Challis Sprite, Meehan Dan and Trouper. Meehan Dan and Trouper collided at the 300m mark. Challis Sprite, Johnnie Red and Panadero King collided at the 300m mark, checking Challis Sprite. Panadero King and Meehan Dan collided at the 300m mark. Trouper and Weeona Dino collided at the 250m mark. Challis Sprite and Panadero King collided several times from the 200m mark to the 100m mark, causing Challis Sprit to check off Panadero King and lose ground.

The start time for this even was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes in order to hold for Ashburton Harness.

Captain Marvel was slow to begin. Blazin' About went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

Pesty Pyper and Shazza's Gift collided soon after the start, checking Pesty Pyper. Blazin' About and Pesty Pyper collided at the 300m mark, severely checking Pesty Pyper which stumbled and subsequently pulled up. Mr. Delahoya and Lonnie Mach collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark. Mr. Delahoya checked off Lonnie Mach at the 50m mark.

Pesty Pyper was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sesamoid and biceps brachii, and right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 28-day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Boyd was slow to begin.

Articus and Cailah Rose collided soon after the start, checking Cailah Rose which collided with Knocka Fella as a result, checking Knocka Fella and Zipping Boyd. Meehan Blue and Startron collided at the 250m mark. Knocka Feller and Cailah Rose collided at the 250m mark. Articus crossed to the rail at the 250m mark, severely checking Knocka Fella and Cailah Rose. Jet Blaster crossed to the rail at the 150m mark, checking Meehan Blue, Startron and Avatar Minty.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Mister Blue and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 10:16am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms Katrina Evans was fined the sum of $100.

Shakey Cougar was slow to begin.
