Steward's Report
Why Not Lola was a late scratching at 9:08 due to injury - split webbing (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards inquired into the circumstances surrounding the late withdrawal of Why Not Lola from this event. Trainer Mr G. Carter stated that the greyhound was examined prior to official scratching time, and at that time was in his opinion, fit to compete. He added that when he retrived the greyhound from the day yard it was found to have injured its webbing, and for this reason Why Not Lola was a late scratching at 9:08. Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action.
Mr P. Tanti, trainer of Dazzling Liesel declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dazzling Liesel last raced at 28.7kg.
Magnus Keroma, My Hardaway Hana and Blue Berty collided on the first turn, checking My Hardaway Hana. Magnus Keroma checked off Beanie Allen on the first turn. Beanie Allen and Magnus Keroma raced wide in the home straight.
