Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Lund, representative of Renaldo regarding the greyhound's bona fides (GAR 25). Renaldo changed into Mr Kevin Iles, registered trainers kennel on 11 May 2018. Stewards inquired into the reason behind the transfer of trainer, Ms Lund stated that Mr Iles was rebuilding his kennel after a spell. Stewards noted the explanation and advised that the situation would be monitored.
Mr Simon Barker, trainer of Mr. Bad Example declared a new weight of 33.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mr. Bad Example last raced at 34.9 kgs.
A pre race sample was taken from Renaldo.
Crymelon Kit was slow to begin. Mr. Bad Example and Xera Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Xera Bale. Renaldo, Mr. Bad Example, Railway Burra and Kryptonian collided on the first turn, checking Renaldo, Railway Burra, Kryptonian and Xera Bale. Railway Burra checked off Mr. Bad Example approaching the home turn.
Kryptonian was vetted following the event. It was reported that tthe greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist and right triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
