Cordillo crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Raweenie, and severely checking Detroit Wally, Starbright Madie and Fawn Regrets. Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Lund, representative of Renaldo regarding the greyhound's bona fides (GAR 25). Renaldo changed into Mr Kevin Iles, registered trainers kennel on 11 May 2018. Stewards inquired into the reason behind the transfer of trainer, Ms Lund stated that Mr Iles was rebuilding his kennel after a spell. Stewards noted the explanation and advised that the situation would be monitored.

Mr Simon Barker, trainer of Mr. Bad Example declared a new weight of 33.7 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Mr. Bad Example last raced at 34.9 kgs.

Crymelon Kit was slow to begin. Mr. Bad Example and Xera Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Xera Bale. Kryptonian was vetted following the event. It was reported that tthe greyhound sustained injuries to the left wrist and right triangle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Steward spoke to Mr John Magri, the trainer of Blackpool Donny regarding the greyhound's bona fides (GAR 25). Blackpool Donny was transferred into Mr Magri's kennel on 11 May 2018 from Michelle Mallia-Magri's kennel. Stewards inquired into the reason behind the transfer of trainer, Mr Magri stated that they used the transfer to avoid being drawn into the same race. Stewards noted the explanation and advised that the situation would be monitored.

Reign Of Omar and Cee Righty were slow to begin. Serendipity Gold, Kentucky Sun, Paraphernalia and Cee Righty collided approaching the first turn, checking all four greyhounds. Stewards spoke to Mr Steven Collyer, the representative of Aston Viva regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Aston Viva last raced on 8 February 2018. Mr Collyer stated that the greyhound had an extended spell.

Taylor Bale, Fair Of Face, Serene Machine and Dyna Yella were slow to begin. Aston Viva checked off Witch Kilty approaching the first turn. Ivanka Rose, Witch Kilty and You Dance collided approaching the first turn, causing Witch Kilty to stumble, checking Fair Of Face, Serene Machine and Aston Viva as a result. Cryrmelon Idol was vetted following the event. It was repoted that there was no apparent injury found.
