A pre-race sample was taken from Discovered.
Midnite Starling, Paddy's Midnight, Destini Pegasus and Discovered were quick to begin. Hilux was slow to begin.
Tiggerlong Ray checked off the heels of Paddy's Midnight soon after the start. Destini Pegasus and Blackpool Alexis collided several times approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Destini Pegasus shifted out on the first turn, checking Tiggerlong Ray, Harsh Miles and Hilux. Tiggerlong Ray checked off the heels of Blackpool Alexis on the first turn. Paddy's Midnight faded in the home straight.
Paddy's Midnight was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle. A 21-day stand down period was imposed.
Blackpool Alexis was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the left wrist, and an abraded left hind paw pad. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
