Steward's Report
Atlantic Rose was quick to begin. Ledgerwood Road and Corsican collided approaching the first turn, checking Corsican. Corsican, Elke's Osti and Three Toots collided on the first turn, checking Elke's Osti. Yolk's Boy faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off. Atlantic Rose checked off Ledgerwood Road approaching the home turn, checking Ninety Proof. Ledgerwood Road and Atlantic Rose collided several times approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Rowan, the trainer of the greyhound Yolk's Boy, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Yolk's Boy was vetted and revetted following event four. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg quadriceps injury, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Yolk's Boy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Rowan pleaded guilty to the charge, Yolk's Boy was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
