Aston Lola, Al's Luck and Telefork were slow to begin. Ocean Bay and Vectis Seyarda collided approaching the first turn. Telefork and Vectis Seyarda collided on the first turn, severely checking Telefork. Al's Luck and Monaro Joe collided approaching the home turn.
Carry On Elvis was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg triangle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
