Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Cusack, the representative of Gin Lee's Bullet regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Gin Lee's Bullet last raced on 24 September 2017. Mr. Cusack stated that the greyhound had changed kennels.
Budva was quick to begin. Montana Fernando and Dyna Carl were slow to begin.
Gin Lee's Bullet checked off Blackpool Ivy on the first turn. One Smarty raced throughout the event. Destini Cherokee checked off Gin Lee's Bullet on the home turn checking Destini Cherokee, Montana Fernando and One Smarty. Blackpool Remi turned its head outwards and collided with Blackpool Ivy approaching the winning post.
Blackpool Remi was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Wickham, the trainer of the greyhound Blackpool Remi regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Blackpool Remi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wickham pleaded guilty to the charge, Blackpool Remi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
