Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Doyle, the representative of Kate's Boy, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Kate's Boy last raced on 17 October 2017. Mr. Doyle stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.
A pre-race sample was taken from Kate's Boy.
A stir-up was mistakenly conducted significantly prior to this event due to a malfuction with the activation light. Another stir-up was conducted at the appropriate time.
Blazing Lane and Jellybean Jess collided soon after the start. Standing Bear and Bell's Borus collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Bell's Borus. Jellybean Jess and Blazing Lane collided on the first turn. Bell's Borus checked off Blazing Lane approaching the home turn. Standing Bear checked off Kate's Boy in the home straight. Kate's Boy tired in the home straight.
Kate's Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that greyhound suffered cramping, no stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs M. Brown, the representative of the greyhound Kate's Boy. Acting in accordance with GAR 71(Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
Bell's Borus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right wrist sprains and saddle soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
