Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Inguanti, the kennel representative for Little Fran, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Little Fran last raced on 9 September 2017. Mr Inquanti stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Frog Hollow; a sample was subsequently collected from the greyhound which placed fourth following the event.

Frog Hollow and Sight Screen were quick to begin. Lackabane was slow to begin.

Frog Hollow and Hot Jean collided soon after the start. Ima Maldini and Blackpool Blast collided approaching the first turn. Little Fran checked off Lackabane approaching the home turn. Little Fran, Sight Screen, Miss Payne and Lackabane collided approaching the home turn, causing Lackabane to race wide. Sight Screen, Miss Payne and Lackabane collided in the home straight. Little Fran checked off Sight Screen in the home straight.

Keep On Runnin' was slow to begin.

Fabredust and Dynamic Ross collided soon after the start, checking Fabredust. Dynamic Ross, Cash Chewing, Mat's Road and Keep On Runnin' collided approaching the first turn, checking Mat's Road and Cash Chewing. Al's In Trouble was a late scratching at 10:27 AM due to illness (GAR 23). A ten-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ringcraft and Lake Lovin' collided on the first turn, causing Lake Lovin' to race wide and check Destini Peso. Ringcraft and Miss Pepperjack collided approaching the home turn, checking Ringcraft. Lake Lovin' and Tiger Sprite raced wide entering the home straight. Lake Lovin' and Destini Peso collided approaching the winning post.

You're Welcome checked off the Firelight Twist on the first turn. Diesel's A Rebel raced wide from the first turn through into the home straight. Piparae checked off the heels of County Donegal on the first turn and again approaching the home turn. Kitboolou Ragsy checked off the heels of I'm Tipping Don approaching the home turn. Dyna Raze and Ninety Proof were quick to begin. Goldenpaw Buzz was slow to begin.

Banana Bubblegum, Avatar Witch and Goldenpaw Buzz collided approaching the first turn, checking Avatar Witch and Banana Bubblegum. Banana Bubblegum was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Lewis Green, the trainer of Banana Bubblegum, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms Lisa Farquhar, the kennel representative for Lil Miss Earner, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Lil Miss Earner last raced on 29 September 2017. Ms Farquhar stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Pace, the trainer of Like Lily, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Like Lily last raced on 4 September 2017. Mr Pace stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell. Mr Pace, declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Like Lily last raced at 28.8kg.

Tiwala Twist was quick to begin. Daisy Me Rollin' and Limburg Will were slow to begin.

Punt Road Girl and Lil Miss Earner collided soon after the start. Tiwala Twist and Amber's Wish collided on the first turn. Amber's Wish and Like Lily collided on the home turn.

Miss Fagan and Black Lad were slow to begin.

Blondy Two, Gold Crusher, Black Lad and Miss Fagan collided approaching the first turn, checking Black Lad and Miss Fagan. Double Ya Back, Blondy Two and Balmoral Bash collided on the first turn, checking Balmoral Bash. Speedway Chick, Bally Beckham and Double Date collided soon after the start, checking Double Date. Aztec Warrior and Speedway Chick collided on the first turn. Iroquois Sharman and Aztec Warrior raced wide on the home turn.

Fairytale Ending and Dream Boulevard were quick to begin.

Johnny McKenley, Budva and Chucka Khan collided soon after the start. Chucka Khan checked off the heels fo Budva soon after the start. Cosmic Fantasy checked off the heels of Johnny McKenley on the first turn. Budva checked off Cosmic Fantasy on the first turn. Three Toots and Johnny McKenley collided approaching the home turn, checking Cosmic Fantasy. Fairytale Ending visably eased and shifted out approaching the home turn, causing Three Toots to be inconvenienced. Johnny McKenley checked off the heels of Budva on the home turn.

Fairytale Ending was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury and trainer Ms Jess Fothergill declined to have the greyhound revetted.  No veterinary stand down was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joshua Formosa, the representative of the greyhound Fairytale Ending, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Fairytale Ending with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Fairytale Ending was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Alfred Barbara in regard to his failure to retrieve the greyhound Cosmic Fantasy in a timely manner, pursuant to GAR46. Stewards took into account Mr Barber's forthright evidence, guilty plea and good record in relation to this rule, and applied a fine of $50.

Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke in relation to presenting his greyhound for a satisfactory trial in a timely manner. Stewards accepted Mr Boehmke's explanation regarding the matter and reminded him of his obligation in relation to this matter for the future events.

MEETING COMMENTS

Satisfactory Trial Results - Nod Ya Head trialled over the 390m from box one, weight 32.2kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.03, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6L. Nod Ya Head was cleared.

Satisfactory Weight Trial Results (not solo) - Carlanna Kervon trialled over the 390m from box four, weight 29.4kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.03, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 15.75L. Carlanna Kervon was cleared.
