Steward's Report
This meeting was declared hot weather affected. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 30.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.8 degrees.
Mr F. Zeinert, trainer of Masked Belle declared a new weight of 27.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Masked Belle last raced at 26.1kg.
Speedway Chick was declared a late scratching at 2.19pm by order of Stewards as the identification of that greyhound could not be confirmed to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
Miss Owlette and Masked Belle were slow to begin.
Alabama Lane and Miss Owlette collided soon after the start. Alabama Lane crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Maximum Stress, Miss Owlette and Masked Belle. Maximum Stress and Masked Belle collided in the home straight.
A sample was taken from Ray's Wish - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Tabb the representative regarding the direction that the greyhound Captain Universe be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
