Killara John was a late scratching at 5.25pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas).  No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.

Our Miss Deena and Le Doyen was quick to begin.  Emilia Mel was slow to begin.  Our Charlie Rose, Scott Cosmic, Milla Rose and Flywheel Strike collided on the first turn checking Flywheel Strike and severely checking Scott Cosmic.  Meehan Deano was checked off Le Doyen in the back straight checking Our Charlie Rose and Milla Rose.  Flywheel Strike and Milla Rose collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Our Charlie Rose and Le Doyen collided several times entering the home straight.

Scott Cosmic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured rght triangle muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Our Charlie Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right pencil muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Chignell the trainer of Our Charlie Rose regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  After viewing the head on video footage and taking into consideration the injury Stewards took no further action.

Marcello, Miraim and Siamese Dream were quick to begin.  Crackerjack Man and Siamese Dream collided soon after the start checking Crackerjack Man.  Josie Rose was checked off Miriam soon after the start checking Crackerjack Man and Siamese Dream.  Miriam and Demand A Panda collided soon after the start.  Josie Rose and Miriam collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Annasay and Demand A Panda collided on the first turn checking Annasay, Marcello and Demand A Panda.  Miriam and Siamese Dream collided on the first turn severely checking Josie Rose, Miriam and Siamese Dream causing Siamese Dream to fall, Miriam stumbled and fell as a result, Josie Rose lost considerable ground and subsequently pulled up.  Demand A Panda and Marcello collided on the second turn.

Miriam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right deltoid muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Siamese Dream was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left scapula, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cunneen the trainer of Soda Sky regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Soda Sky last raced on 24/10/18.  Mr. Cunneen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to both stoppers

Bandit Brad and Sir Fancy were slow to begin.  Johnny Wolf stumbled soon after the start.  Lakeview Harley and Our First Lady collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Johnny Wolf was checked off Bandit Brad on the first turn.

Meeting comments:

This meeting was declared Hot Weather Affected as per GRV's Hot Weather policy.  The kennel temperature was recorded prior to the first event (19.6 degrees), the outside temperature was below 30 degrees prior to the first event so no further temperatures were taken.
