The meeting was deemed to be hot weather affected on 11/1/18 due to a forecast temperature of 33 degrees. At the opening of kennelling the outside temperature was 22 degrees, and as a result stewards declared that the hot weather policy would not apply for the remainder of the meeting.

Faraday was slow to begin.  Dyna Hendry, Dyna Penny and Oh Jay Korie collided approaching the first turn checking Dyna Hendry and Dyna Penny.  Destini Cavalier and Dyna Hendry collided on the first turn causing Destini Cavalier to stumble.  Faraday and Destini Cavalier collided on the first turn checking Destini Cavalier.  Dyna Soren and Wok Fried Yabby collided approaching the second turn checking Wok Fried Yabby.  Faraday clipped the heels of Dyna Penny in the back straight.  Faraday crossed to the rail on the third turn checking Dyna Penny.

Renew and Dutch Legacy collided soon after the start.  No Excuse, Quavo and Apache Bro collided soon after the start.  Renew, No Excuse, Quavo and Apache Bro collided on the first turn.  Renew and No Excuse collided on the second turn.  Quavo galloped on the heels of Renew approaching the third turn checking both greyhounds.  Lena Lake checked off Dyna Alistair in the home straight.

Apache Bro was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Precious Destini was quick to begin.  Tanoan Creek and Oshkosh Enry Vee were slow to begin.  Blue Gum Hill and Leprechaun Storm collided on the first turn.  Leprechaun Storm and Oshkosh Expert collided approaching the second turn.  Oronsay, Blue Gum Hill and Precious Destini collided on the second turn severely checking Blue Gum Hill, Leprechaun Storm and Oshkosh Expert.  Hit The Highway and Oshkosh Erny Vee collided on the third turn.  Oshkosh Erny Vee checked off Tanoan Creek on the fourth turn.  Tanoan Creek, Oshkosh Erny Vee and Oshkosh Expert collided on the home turn.  Leprechaun Storm checked off Tanoan Creek on the home turn.

Ikon Parker was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Couldridge, trainer of Ikon Parker, regarding the performance of the greyhound, which tired near the home turn. Mr Couldridge advised that in his opinion the greyhound was better suited to races over a shorter distance than today's event, and in future he would seek to nominate the greyhound for events over less than 525m.
