Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Todd Bless.
Temujin and Ivey's Affair collided soon after the start. Not Loitering and Magic Maya collided approaching the first turn. Not Loitering and Emilia Mel collided on the first turn checking Not Loitering. Todd Bless eased approaching the home turn and again in the home straight. Shadow Walker and Magic Maya collided in the home straight. Temujin galloped on Shadow Walker in the home straight checking Puffin' Stuff and severely checking Temujin, Shadow Walker and Not Loitering.
Shadow Walker was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Not Loitering was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right hock and right foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Scott Stefanos, the trainer of the greyhound Todd Bless regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn and again in the home straight. Todd Bless was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hamstring injury and an abrasion to the left hind leg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Todd Bless with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stefanos pleaded guilty to the charge, Todd Bless was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
