Stewards spoke to Mr Stephen Crighton, the trainer of Spectator regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Spectator last raced on 22 February 2018 and is returning from a change of kennels. 

This event was delayed by approx. 2.20mins to hold for Gatton gallops.

Got Some Zip was quick to begin.  Dr. Zammit was slow to begin.

Mel's Footsteps and Pilot Pete collided soon after the start.  Shooter's Ajax and Spectator collided soon after the start checking Shooters Ajax which stumbled.  Mel's Footsteps and Pilot Pete collided approaching the first turn.  Pilot Pete, Hurricane Billie and Stealthy Flight collided on the first turn checking Pilot Pete and Stealthy Flight, Pilot Pete fell as a result.  Shooter's Ajax raced wide on the first turn.  Got Some Zip eased on the first turn.  Hurricane Billie and Got Some Zip collided on the home turn.  Mel's Footsteps, Hurricane Billie and Got Some Zip collided in the home straight.

Pilot Pete was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right scapula fracture injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Got Some Zip was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury. Trainer Mr Trevor Whitford declined a re-vet.

Stewards spoke to Mr Trevor Whitford, the trainer of the greyhound Got Some Zip regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Got Some Zip with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Got Some Zip was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Pilot Pete a post-race sample was subsequently going to be taken, with the greyhound falling during the event and with the injury received the post-race sample was aborted. 

Stewards inspected the track after the fall of the greyhound in this event and deemed the track satisfactory. 

Out of Competition Samples were taken from Shooters Ali and Splish Splash engaged in this event on 20 June 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was taken from Chiming In.

Lady Emerald, Fish Armo and Fabulous Cash were quick to begin.  Shooters Ali and Chiming In were slow to begin.

Chiming In, Fish Armo and Fabulous Cash collided approaching the first turn checking Fish Armo and severely checking Fabulous Cash.  Shooters Ali, I'll Swap Ya and Chiming In collided on the first turn checking I'll Swap Ya.

Fabulous Cash was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sopha Gem.

Dr. Noely was slow to begin.

Absolute Breeze, Sopha Gem, Betwixt, Kelly's Star and Major Amor collided soon after the start checking Betwixt and Kelly's Star.  Kelly's Star faltered on the home turn and tailed off.

Kelly's Star was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock injury, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Scooby Scooby Do, Shrek's Rusty, Zambora Andy, Midnight Muscat and Bags Of Bucks collided soon after the start checking Zambora Andy and Midnight Muscat.  Scooby Scooby Do checked off Bags Of Bucks approaching the first turn.  Prince Stealth and My Barcia collided on the first turn checking Scooby Scooby Do and severely checking Prince Stealth.  Zambora Andy and My Barcia collided on the home turn checking My Barcia.

A post-race sample was taken from Bowon Approach - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr Ian Anderson regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Prince Stealth. Stewards directed that Prince Stealth be boxed first in future events.

All You Got, Penny Lane Keats, Bloke's Advice and Midnight Kebab were slow to begin.

Kiowa Kaema and Penny Lane Keats collided on the first turn checking Penny Lane Keats.

All You Got and Here's Tiger collided approaching the home turn.  Bloke's Advice and Here's Tiger collided entering the home straight and again in the home turn.  Penny Lane Keats and Kiowa Kaema collided approaching the winning post checking Kiowa Kaema causing Kiowa Kaema to cross out.

A post-race sample was taken from Brindle Ninja - winner of the event. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Todd Bless.

Temujin and Ivey's Affair collided soon after the start.  Not Loitering and Magic Maya collided approaching the first turn.  Not Loitering and Emilia Mel collided on the first turn checking Not Loitering.  Todd Bless eased approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.  Shadow Walker and Magic Maya collided in the home straight.  Temujin galloped on Shadow Walker in the home straight checking Puffin' Stuff and severely checking Temujin, Shadow Walker and Not Loitering.

Shadow Walker was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Not Loitering was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the right hock and right foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Scott Stefanos, the trainer of the greyhound Todd Bless regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.  Todd Bless was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hamstring injury and an abrasion to the left hind leg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Todd Bless with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Stefanos pleaded guilty to the charge, Todd Bless was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Baggy's Request and Beast were slow to begin.

Mr. Pendles and Siver Lightning collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Mr. Pendles and Mask collided entering the home straight.  Lady Alliance and Royal Bruno collided approaching the winning post.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Trey Smidge engaged in this event on 20 June 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Dr. Condor was slow to begin.

Trey Smidge and Spazzy Blue collided approaching the first turn checking Trey Smidge and Suzy Nitro.  Crackerjack Shak checked off Suzy Nitro on the first turn.

Triceps Brachii, Burning Steel and Nostalgia collided approaching the first turn.  Triceps Brachii, Burning Steel and Why Not Macca collided on the first turn checking Triceps Brachii and Burning Steel.  Burning Steel raced wide in the home straight.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Doble Estandar engaged in this event on 20 June 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Inda Way was quick to begin.

Flying Elite and My Echidna collided soon after the start.  Flying Elite, Surfonic Pearl and Dyna Alice collided on the first turn.  Doble Estandar, Flying Elite, Surfonic Pearl and Dyna Alice collided on the home turn severely checking Doble Estandar, Flying Elite and Dyna Alice.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Zapto.

Titanium Boy was quick to begin. Power Gem, Timeless Rose, Titanium Boy and Precious Metal collided soon after the start checking Power Gem which faltered and subsequently tailed off.  Johnny Utah and Titanium Boy collided approaching the first turn.  Precious Metal, Where's Marcia and Courage Crest collided on the first turn checking Where's Marcia.  Titanium Boy and Where's Marcia collided entering the home straight.

Power Gem was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr Neil Barker, trainer of Crainy's Wish declared a new weight of 30.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Crainy's Wish last raced at 29.0kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Galloping Ashley.

Acey Boy, Crainy's Wish and Galloping Ashley collided soon after the start.  Acey Boy and Crainy's Wish collided approaching the first turn.  Sargent, Acey Boy and Galloping Ashley collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Sargent checked off Acey Boy on the home turn.
