Dyna Zesty, Flying Flyer and Rockstar Patriot were quick to begin. Cookie Yap was slow to begin.
Oscar De Lonhro checked off Jane's Intention on the first turn and collided with Shae's Intention. Oscar De Lonhro lost considerable ground as a result. Shae's Intention checked off Cookie Yap on the first turn, stumbled and lost ground as a result. Rockstar Patriot and Detroit Wally collided on the first turn. Detroit Wally checked off Rockstar Patriot approaching the second turn. Cookie Yap turned its head outwards, eased, shifted out and collided with Detroit Wally several times approaching the home turn. Rockstar Patriot checked off Dyna Zesty on the home turn. Cookie Yap and Detroit Wally faded in the home straight.
Oscar De Lonhro was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Cookie Yap was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R. Henness, Trainer of Cookie Yap. Acting underGAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cookie Yap with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Henness pleaded guilty to the charge, Cookie Yap was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
