Stewards questioned Mr J Galea, representing trainer Mr R. Galea in regards to the step up in distance to 600m for Main One tonight after the greyhounds most recent starts had been over sprint distances. Mr Galea explained that the greyhound had been coursing recently in addition to racing and that he was of the opinion that Main One would be able to run the 600m distance with clear running. Mr Galea further added that at the greyhounds two previous starts over 600m, Main One had suffered significant interference resulting in the greyhound being unplaced at those runs. Stewards noted the explanation of Mr Galea and directed that a pre race sample be taken from the greyhound.

Uno Fabio was slow to begin. Uno Fabio checked off Zipping Nitro on the first turn. Dyna Alistair and Dyna Zesty collided on the first turn checking Flying Flyer and Poke The Bear. Flying Flyer and Poke The Bear collided on the first turn and entering the front straight checking Flying Flyer. Flying Flyer and Dyna Chill collided in the front straight. Zipping Nitro, Poke The Bear and Dyna Zesty collided on the second turn checking Poke The Bear and Dyna Zesty. Zipping Nitro and Poke The Bear collided on the third turn. Dyna Alistair and Dyna Chill collided approaching the winning post.
