Stewards spoke to Mr. Brandon Mackie the representative for Miles Per Gallon regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miles Per Gallon last raced on 20/02/18. Mr. Mackie stated the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennel. Mr. Mackie declared a new weight of 30.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Miles Per Gallon last raced at 31.7kg.

White Line Lass was quick to begin. Screaming Oaks, Fear Fire and MIles Per Gallon collided soon after the start checking Fear Fire. Checker Plate was checked off Miss Fab on the first turn checking Screaming Oaks. Lucky Omar and Checker Plate collided on the first turn checking Checker Plate. Miles Per Gallon and Lucky Omar collided approaching the home turn. Lucky Omar and Miles Per Gallon raced wide in the home straight. White Line Lass, Screaming Oaks and My Alibi collided approaching the winning post.
