Kubla De Kahn was a late scratching at 1:31 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mrs Belinda Harley was fined the sum of $100.

Shifter Magic was a late scratching at 2:02 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to left calf injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

First Responder was quick to begin.  Cullquin Daario was slow to begin.  Cullquin Bronn clipped the heels of Fabredust approaching the first turn.  Punch Out and First Responder collided on the home turn.

Badelaide Road was slow to begin.  Kid Boomer, Vincero, Chill Out Indy, Smash Williams and Rustic Rose collided approaching the first turn, checking Vincero.  Rustic Rose, Chill Out Indy and Badelaide Road collided on the first turn, severely checking Rustic Rose and Vincero; causing Badelaide Road to fall.  Smash Williams and Kid Boomer collided approaching the second turn.  Chill Out Indy marred the running of Smash Williams entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Badelaide Road was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a lumbo-sacral injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Chill Out Indy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Shane Drummond, the representative of the greyhound Chill Out Indy, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight, in the home straight and approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Chill Out Indy with marring.  Mr Drummond pleaded guilty to the charge, Chill Out Indy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr Garry Harding was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound Trish's Delight pursuant to GAR 33.

Stewards spoke to Mrs Belinda Glen, the handler of Batik Print, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Batik Print last raced on 28 February 2018.  Mrs Glen stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a spell.

Osti's Raider and Batik Print were slow to begin.  Lorella checked off County Carlow soon after the start.  Osti's Raider checked off Lorella on the first turn.  Batik Print checked off Osti's Raider on the first turn.  Surfside Squids eased on the first turn.  Zipping Hazel checked off Short Leash in the home straight.

Surfside Squids was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ken Kubik, the handler of the greyhound Surfside Squids, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.  Mr Kubik declined to have Surfside Squids re-vetted.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Surfside Squids with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kubik pleaded not guilty to the charge, Surfside Squids was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Track Curator Mr M. Pell advised Stewards that the track was lightly harrowed on 3rd June 2018.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Stir Fry Shrimp trialled over the 425m from box one, weight 31.8 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 24:47, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.25 lengths. Stir Fry Shrimp was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Richard Gray, the trainer of Ace Victorem, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Ace Victorem last raced on 27 August 2017.  Mr Gray stated that the greyhound last competed in puppy coursing and was commencing racing on circular tracks.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Ace Victorem trialled over the 425m from box two, weight 36.2 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 24:47, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.25 lengths.  Ace Victorem was Cleared.
