Fabredust crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Lighfoot Lass.  Mega Mckayla and Harvey Warbanger collided on the first turn.  Fabredust and Belron Bliss collided approaching the home turn.  Lightfoot Lass and Belron Bliss collided on the home turn.  Fabredust and Belron Bliss collided entering the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Greg's Prince raced wide in the home straight.

Mega McKayla was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent found.  

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. W. Dawes, the trainer of Mega McKayla regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.

Stewards charged Mr Greg Minne with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Greg's Prince for this event. Mr Minne stated that he had no excuse for his tardiness and he had simply lost track of time. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that Mr Minne had arrived 10 mins prior to the advertised start time; Mr Minne was subsequently fined the sum of $100.00.

Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Dedes, the trainer of Libby's Dream regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Libby's Dream last raced on 24 January 2018 and is returning from a spell and change of kennels, Mr Dedes also declared a new weight of 28.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Libby's Dream last raced at 27.1kgs.

New Fire Girl was quick to begin.  But What For was slow to begin.

Yelredda Saint and New Fire Girl collided on the first turn checking Python Pride and Yelredda Saint.  Cilla Gem lost ground approaching the home turn.  New Fire Girl and Libby's Dream collided on the home turn.

Cilla Gem was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Burning Steel was slow to begin.

He's A Natural and Scooby Scooby Do collided soon after the start checking Scooby Scooby Do.  Flash Frankie, Notorious King and Fish Armo collided soon after the start.  He's A Natural and Fish Armo collided on the first turn.  Flash Frankie raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Burning Steel and Scooby Scooby Do raced wide in the home staright.  He's A Natural and Fish Armo collided approaching the winning post. 

Trumpeter was slow to begin.

Belleperi Miss and Trumpeter collided soon after the start.  Bud Husky, Belleperi Miss and Trumpeter collided soon after the start.  Trumpeter contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and subsequently tailed off.  Bud Husky checked off Fernando's Jewel approaching the first turn.  Fernando's Jewel checked off Ballistic Gem on the first turn.  Fernando's Jewel checked off Sheza Dragon entering the home straight.  

Trumpeter was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Fernando Stealth and Fabulous Gee collided several times approaching the first turn.  Shrek's Typhoon checked off Brandeen Fi on the first turn.  Magic Maya checked off Aladdin Prince approaching the home turn.  Aladdin Prince and Brandeen Fi collided on the home turn.  Fernando Stealth and Fabulous Gee collided on the home turn. 

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Tatti, the trainer of Jupiter Jones regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Jupitur Jones last raced on 9 January 2018 and is returning from seasonal spell.

Waltz On Bye, Maggie Mikado and Golden Gem collided on the first turn.  Midnight Muscat and Dr. Dedra collided approaching the home turn.  Cosa Bona raced wide in the home straight.

Mr Jason Formosa, the representative of Boof's Banjo declared a new weight of 38.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Boof's Banjo last raced at 37.1kgs.

Hello Nimble and Artistic Alyssa were slow to begin.

Mega Secret crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Tricky Trey, Five Lights, Boof's Banjo, Meehan Phil and Artistic Alyssa.  Mega Secret galloped on Tricky Trey approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Hello Nimble and Boof's Banjo collided in the home straight. Hello Nimble and Five Lights collided approaching the winning post.

Razzle Oak and Tilley's Pie collided soon after the start.  Zipping Pedro, Razzle Oak and Veetee Mist collided on the first turn checking Veetee Mist and Razzle Oak.  Veetee Mist crossed out on the home turn checking Razzle Oak.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Pursuant to GAR 101(2)(b), Stewards issued a warning to Ms Lina Repici and reminded her that as an unlicensed person, she is not permitted to handle a greyhound on any racecourse.

Stewards reminded kennel attendant, Ms R Bau of her responsibilities to ensure she remains in the kennel block at all times during the meeting to ensure the integrity of the kennels. The matter has been referred on to the appropriate manager. 

Satisfactory Trial – Returning from retirement and GAR 69(B)(1) - Excuse Me Baby trialled over the 400mtrs from box 5, weight 30.9kgs, the greyhound was placed 4thin a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.24, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 203/4 lengths. Excuse Me Baby was Not Cleared and was vetted following the trial, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hock injury and a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mrs M. Thomas, the trainer of Meeniyan Hawk regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Meeniyan Hawk last raced on 6 November 2017 and is returning from a spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Meeniyan Hawk trialled over the 400mtrs from box 7, weight 31.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.24, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 18 ¾ lengths. Meeniyan Hawk was Not Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Shady Whip trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 31.9kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.24, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1 ½ lengths. Shady Whip was Not Cleared.
