Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. Shane Jack, the trainer of Double Sensation regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Double Sensation last raced on 24th January 2018. Mr. Jack stated that the greyhound was new to the kennel.
This race was delayed due to a power failure, and started at the amended time of 7:48pm.
Sharp Spur was slow to begin. Brindle Delight, Sweet Gabriella and Dyna Cadet collided soon after the start. Sweet Gabriella and Dyna Cadet collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Cadet. Sparkling Jewel and Double Sensation collided approaching the first turn, checking Double Sensation. Brindle Delight and Dyna Cadet collided approaching the first turn. Sweet Gabriella and Sharp Spur collided on the first turn, checking Sweet Gabriella. Brindle Delight checked off Double Sensation on the first turn. Double Sensation and New Fire Girl collided entering the back straight. Sharp Spur raced wide in the back straight, approaching the home turn, and again on the home turn. Brindle Delight and Dyna Cadet collided on the home turn.
Double Sensation was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Sweet Gabriella, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
