Sir Richard was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start. Dane Daisy crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Aston Liesel, Mahjong World, On The Rebound and Aged Badly. Ends Well, Oozing Mojo, Mahjong World and Dane Daisy collided approaching the first turn checking Oozing Mojo, Dane Daisy, On The Rebound and Aged Badly.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Mackie, the trainer of Kuta's Lad regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Kuta's Lad last raced on 10th September 2017. Mr. Mackie stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a change of kennel and injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Kuta's Lad trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.5kgs. The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.04. The greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths. Kuta's Lad was cleared.

The greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.04. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25 lengths. Plummy's Girl was cleared.
