Goodbye Goldie was slow to begin.  Cruising Solo checked off Vapouriser on the first turn checking Vapouriser; Cruising Solo lost ground as a result.  Cruising Solo raced wide in the home straight.  Vapouriser failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight and collided with Charba Charli several times.

Cruising Solo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Vapouriser was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  Trainer, Mr. R. Conway declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Conway, the trainer of the greyhound Vapouriser regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Vapouriser with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Conway pleaded guilty to the charge.  Vapouriser was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Dreamliner was vetted followng the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left chest muscle and spike wound to its left front toe.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Sapphire Power.

Capricious stumbled at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Bar King Bonza, Sapphire Power and Extreme Summer collided soon after the start checking Sapphire Power and Extreme Summer; Sapphire Power and Extreme Summer both stumbled as a result.  Piccolo Fratello checked off Tibby Shore approaching the first turn.  Capricious and Bar King Bonza collided approaching the first turn causing Capricious to falter and lose ground checking Sapphire Power and severely checking Extreme Summer.  Blistering Betty checked off Tibby Shore on the first turn checking Piccolo Fratello.  Extreme Summer checked off Capricious approaching the home turn.

Capricious was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Pool Man engaged in this event on 28 May, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Ms. K. Thorburn, trainer of Gene Man declared a new weight of 34.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Gene Man last raced at 35.8kgs.

A pre race sample was taken from Magic Flora.

Magic Flora was quick to begin.  Shanlyn Georgie and My Bro Black were slow to begin.  Qatar Girl and Pool Man collided soon after the start.  Shanlyn Georgie and Qatar Girl collided on the first turn checking Shanlyn Georgie, Qatar Girl, Pool Man and My Bro Black.  Elusive Anake and My Bro Black raced wide in the home straight.

Woody's My Name was slow to begin.  Mel's Footsteps, Harvey Warbanger and Dissembler collided soon after the start.  Shotgun Shiloh crossed the rail soon after the start and collided with Dissembler and Harvey Warbanger.  Woody's My Name and Valar Morghulis collided approaching the first turn.  Valar Morghulis checked off Tonking Home approaching the first turn.  Tonking Home, Woody's My Name, Harvey Warbanger and Shotgun Shiloh collided on the first turn severely checking Harvey Warbanger, Mel's Footsteps and Dissembler.  Harvey Warbanger, Mel's Footsteps and Dissembler collided approaching the home turn.  Valar Morghulis checked off Tonking Home on the home turn.  Mel's Footsteps and Dissembler collided several times from the home turn to entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Tonking Home and Woody's My Name collided on the home turn.  Tonking Home, Woody's My Name and Shotgun Shiloh collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Woody's My Name.

A pre race sample was taken from Dyna Xerox.

Adala Son and Surfonic Gold were quick to begin.  Adala Son and Dr. Walter collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Adala Son raced wide on the home turn checking Dr. Walter.  Surfonic Gold, Dr. Leonardo and Alfie's Affair raced wide on the home turn.  Special Member and Dr. Walter collided entering the home straight.  Surfonic Gold raced wide in the home straight checking Dr. Leonardo and Alfie's Affair.

Surfonic Gold was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right wrist and right triangle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Natural Rhythm.

Galloping Leo was quick to begin.  Natural Rhythm and Loaded were slow to begin.  Dr. Darkrai, Adala Boy and Slippery Sam collided soon after the start.  Slippery Sam faltered approaching the first turn and pulled up as a result.  Natural Rhythm checked off Crickets Dash on the first turn checking Loaded.  Adala Boy checked off Natural Rhythm approaching the home turn.  Dr. Darkrai raced wide on the home turn checking Adala Boy.

Slippery Sam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right hock.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Galloping Leo, the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon, the trainer of Miriam regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Miriam last raced on 26th January 2018.  Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to the left shoulder.

True Gem was quick to begin.  Black Talon, Rains It Pours, Bluehawk Robert and Miriam collided soon after the start checking Rains It Pours, Bluehawk Robert and Miriam.  Rains It Pours faltered on the first turn checking Miriam and Bluehawk Robert; Rains It Pours lost considerable ground as a result.  Aston Tobin and True Gem collided entering the home straight.

Rains It Pours was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hip.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Miss Morrissett.

True Talent was slow to begin.  Blackjack Cruise, Dyna Hunter, Isen Allen and Little Tacka collided soon after the start.  Little Tacka and Small Rose collided approaching the first turn.  Blackjack Cruise, Dyna Hunter and Isen Allen collided on the first turn checking Dyna Hunter and Isen Allen.  Dyna Hunter checked off True Talent on the first turn and again in the home straight.

Stewards delayed the All Clear following this event after concerns regarding the positioning of the lure in the home straight.  After viewing all available race footage, Stewards determined that the position of the lure in the Home Straight did not impact the result of the race.  The All Clear was subsequently given.  Stewards spoke to the lure driver and referred this matter to the appropriate manager.

Double Black and Aston Halle were slow to begin.  Double Black and Karaka collided soon after the start.  Lightning Parade, Little Kensi, Go Zippy Go and Parumba Taylah collided on the first turn severely checking Little Kensi, Go Zippy Go, Parumba Taylah and Karaka.  Little Kensi checked off Go Zippy Go on the first turn.  Lightning Parade and Super Serena collided approaching the home turn.  Double Black and Go Zippy Go collided approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.

Wild Angel and Call Me Waylan were slow to begin.  Monster Machine checked off Vienna Gypsy approaching the first turn.  Dr. Shreds lost ground approaching the home turn.  Vienna Gypsy raced wide entering the home straight.

Dr. Shreds was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left monkey muscle and left back muscle.  A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Mahjong Ted, Mallee Spring and Lyka Skywalker collided approaching the first turn.  Lyka Skywalker galloped on the heels of Kimani on the first turn checking Mahjong Ted and Mallee Spring and severely checking Lyka Skywalker and Kimani.  Lyka Skywalker and Kimani collided approaching the home turn.  Mallee Spring and Duke Of Burnley collided in the home straight.  Tinderella checked off Merc in the home straight.

Kimani was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Sir Richard was quick to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Dane Daisy crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Aston Liesel, Mahjong World, On The Rebound and Aged Badly.  Ends Well, Oozing Mojo, Mahjong World and Dane Daisy collided approaching the first turn checking Oozing Mojo, Dane Daisy, On The Rebound and Aged Badly.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Mackie, the trainer of Kuta's Lad regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Kuta's Lad last raced on 10th September 2017.  Mr. Mackie stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a change of kennel and injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Kuta's Lad trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.5kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.04.  The greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths.  Kuta's Lad was cleared.

Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Watson, the trainer of Plummy's Girl regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Plummy's Girl last raced on 28th November 2017.  Mr. Watson stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a change of kennel.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Plummy's Girl trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 8, weight 26.7kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.04.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.25 lengths.  Plummy's Girl was cleared.
