Bomber's Return was a late scratching at 7.55 pm on Saturday, 26 May 2018, due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pre-race samples were taken from Spy Secrets and Taking Aim.
Vanishka and Spy Secrets collided soon after the start. Vanishka, Spy Secrets and Spring Bomber collided soon after the start. Spy Secrets checked off Spring Bomber approaching the first turn. Taking Aim and Magical Bling collided on the first turn, checking Magical Bling, causing Spy Secrets to gallop on the heels of Taking Aim, severely checking Spy Secrets and Taking Aim; causing Taking Aim to fall and Spy Secrets to race wide.
Spy Secrets was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.
