Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr Bruce Baxter, the handler of Kismet Rose, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kismet Rose last raced on 15 December 2017.  Mr Baxter stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a left back leg injury.

Mister Beveridge and Mrs Hardwicke were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Lucas The Great and No Sugar collided approaching the first turn.  Kismet Rose lost ground on the first turn.  Kismet Rose and Piper's Unicorn collided approaching the home turn.  Lucas The Great and Crackerjack Des collided approaching the home turn.  No Sugar clipped the heels of Crackerjack Des on the home turn.  Piper's Unicorn raced wide in the home straight.

Kismet Rose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg shoulder joint and left hindleg achilles tendon injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Lucas The Great - the winner of the event.
