Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Chignell, the representative of Josie Rose regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Josie Rose last raced on 30th January, 2018.  Mr Chignell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spell.

A pre-race sample was taken from Lightning Boxy.

Blue Tornado, Charba Charli and Blue Bar Pie were slow to begin.  Charba Charli checked off Lightning Boxy approaching the first turn.  Josie Rose, Blue Tornado, Midnight Memphis and Crossfire Icon collided on the first turn checking Josie Rose and Blue Tornado and severely checking Midnight Memphis.  Josie Rose faltered on the first turn and subsequently pulled up.

Midnight Memphis was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Josie Rose was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 5, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Flash Frankie was slow to begin.   Volcanic Winter and Bowie Boy collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Volcanic Winter, Bowie Boy and Goldielocks Rose collided on the first turn checking Bowie Boy.  Goldielocks Rose checked off Volcanic Winter on the first turn.

My Logan Leigh was slow to begin.  St. Regis, My Logan Leigh and Vladimir Rose collided soon after the start.  Hit Me Up and Kokoda Bobby collided on the first turn checking St. Regis.  St. Regis, My Logan Leigh and Vladimir Rose collided on the first turn.  St. Regis and Vladimir Rose collided approaching the home turn.  Hit Me Up raced wide on the home turn.  On The Runway, Kokoda Bobby and Duke Of Burnley collided approaching the winning post.

Tinderella was a late scratching at 8:32am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lakeview Maisey, Aston Hinkley and Our Bravo Rose were quick to begin.  Our Bravo Rose and Lottie Biscotti collided soon after the start checking Lottie Biscotti.  Aston Hinkley and Dr. Mortikye collided approaching the first turn checking Dr. Mortikye.  Demand A Panda and Lakeview Maisey collided approaching the first turn checking Lakeview Maisey.  Lakeview Maisey and Aston Hinkley collided on the first turn checking Dr. Mortikye and Lottie Biscotti.  Perrie The Fairy and Our Bravo Rose collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Lakeview Maisey raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Perrie The Fairy was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 11,  it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Healey, the representative of the greyhound Perrie The Fairy regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Perrie The Fairy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Healey pleaded guilty to the charge, Perrie The Fairy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lakeview Miss was quick to begin.  Wilburn and Lakeview Miss collided approaching the first turn checking Lakeview Miss which lost considerable ground.  Dat Dat Daty, Zipping Jacy and Perrie Lulu collided on the first turn.  Dat Dat Daty, Zipping Jacy and Mutant collided approaching the home turn.  Perrie Lulu raced wide on the home turn.

Zoe The Pest was a late scratching at 8:14pm after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented for this event.

The starting time for this event was amended to 8:21pm.

She's Gifted, Cosmic Yessam and Brindle Bay were slow to begin.  Mi Blue Day, Cosmic Yessam and Brindle Bay collided soon after the start checking Cosmic Yessam.  Heard It Before, Mi Blue Day and Brindle Bay collided on the first turn severely checking Mi Blue Day.  Cosmic Yessam and Brindle Bay collided approaching the second turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Neil Jones representative/handler regarding the late scratching of Zoe The Pest in this event and subsequently charged Mr. Neil Jones with a breach of GAR 31 (1) in that he failed to present the correct greyhound to stewards at kennelling for this event.  Mr. Jones pleaded guilty to the charge.  When considering a penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr. Jones's co-operation and guilty plea with this incident.  Mr. Jones was found guilty and issued with a $250 fine.

The starting time for this event was amended to 8:42pm.

Spin The Trolley was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Denny Blue, Rockin' Bar Lil and Killara John collided approaching the home turn checking Killara John and Denny Blue.  Spin The Trolley checked off Denny Blue approaching the home turn.  Lakeview Grace raced wide on the home turn.

Rickett's Point was a late scratching at 5:05pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Remo Gully and Velocity Whisper were quick to begin.  Krypto Jam was slow to begin.  Remo Gully, Ninetymile Hawk and Captain Jackie collided approaching the first turn severely checking Remo Gully which contacted the running rail as a result.  Double Black and Krypto Jam collided on the first turn checking Captain Jackie and severely checking Krypto Jam.  Krypto Jam and Adonis Rose collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Double Black was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results -  Double The Power trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 32.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4  The time of the trial was 25.43, the greyhound was beated by a margin of 12.25 lengths.  Double The Power was Cleared.
